Thieves smashed a window to 201 Sumner Street in Boston around 4:55 a.m. on Thursday, April 20 and stole multiple cell phones from a wall display, according to the Boston Police Department. A cell phone shop called "celltronic Boston" is listed at that address.
The robbers took the phones and left, but an hour later they returned, broke the glass counter display, and took more cell phones. They left and returned again half an hour later to steal even more cell phones and electronics.
Police arrived at the scene to find a front window shattered and stones and broken glass on the ground. The business alarm had not activated, but video surveillance showed the thieves and their repeated pocket-filling.
Officers canvassed the area and found two 14-year-olds who matched the description of the thieves. One of the teens actively resisted arrest, but both were handcuffed at around 8:10 a.m. the same day.
Police found 23 cellphones and 3 electronic watches after further investigation.
The teens were arrested and charged with the following:
- Delinquent to wit
- Breaking and entering
- Receiving stolen property
Both teens are expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
